FUCKIN MONDAY! The Indie Rock Weekly Survival Kit! I’m shipping up to Boston

In order to cope with it and sail safely through this week we decided to kick-it off with Dropkick Murphys and their mythical song: I’m shipping up to Boston.

Dropkick Murphys were born in 1996 in Massachussets, US. Labelled as Celtic Punk, they started with Hellcat Records, a label specialized in Punk bands (Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros, The Distillers, Rancid) and moved to Warner Bros in 2007. .

The song featured in the Academy Winner movie “The Departed” and thanks to the movie gained worldwide visibility. If you ever go to any sports event around Boston you have high probabilities of hearing it playing during a Bruins, Celtics or Patriots game!
