Day 3- Thursday July 24

The Excitements, Les Arches, 5:45pm-6:45pm

This band form Barcelona (Spain) the audience jumps straight into the sixties music. The mix of Koko-Jean Daniels’ charming full voice along with the guitars, bass, sax and drums create a powerful cocktail of sounds ranging between blues, soul and rock n’ roll. Her voice reminds at times Amy Winehouse’s black voice topping the soul music in the background. Some songs are really lively and the singer speaks out what she thinks, introducing them to the rhythm of the music. They get the audience doing some rock n’ roll moves and end the concert in style with a song inspired by the Blues Brothers’ “Shout”, the base is the same but the words change.

Elton John, Grande Scène, 9pm-10:30pm

Sir Elton John doesn’t need any presentation, he’s been around for a while now and has come to his 31st solo album The Diving Board which was released in 2013! On the Grande Scène of Paléo he confirms himself once again as the UK prince of pop. Wearing a sparkling blue jacket he sits in front of his piano, which he plays with an unconditional passion. He is on stage with his faithful band which provide musical support while he goes through his biggest classic among which the beautiful and touching “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word”. In between each song he raises from the stool and hands in the air he thanks the audience showing his gratitude.
