Have you already ventured yourself to a music festival in winter? I haven’t but I’m very much looking forward to attend Festival Antigel (http://www.antigel.ch/), which takes place from the 23rd of January until the 8th of February in and around Geneva. It is more than a music festival, offering also dance performances and a lot more. In July at Paléo Festival I met Eric Linder alias Polar, the artistic director and co-founder of Festival Antigel who told me about it, so I thought I had to check it out. The music programme is pretty interesting with many alternative acts like TV On The Radio. But one name in particular drew my attention: Mogwai.
Mogwai are a Scottish instrumental rock band mixing majestic guitar riffs to electronic beats and not only. Some of their songs do contain lyrics and vocals. Mogwai have been making music together for a long time now. Their last album Rave Tapes (2014) explores yet a new sound dimension, ranging into quiet and distant meanders, which at times become surprisingly harsher. As when listening to most instrumental bands you just have to let yourself be taken away by the sounds.
Are you ready to enter their dreamy world and be blown away? If yes, see you on the 24th of January at the Pont-Rouge Hall CFF in Carouge 😉
